Condition: Antique, closely examined with no chips and no cracks found; unsigned.
This is a substantial, show-stopping piece of cut glass: a 16″ trumpet vase in the American Brilliant Period style, weighing more than 9 pounds and covered in the kind of deep hand cutting you rarely see on newer production glass. It makes a striking centerpiece for a cut glass collector or anyone who loves sparkle on a sideboard.
The oval bowl flares from a fluted lower body into a scalloped, fan-cut rim, with a dense all-over hobstar and diamond-point pattern and mitre-cut flutes. The square stepped foot carries a radiating starburst and a crisp saw-tooth edge. The vase comes from the Effie Mona Mack Estate. No maker’s signature could be found on the base, so it is offered as unsigned rather than attributed to a specific cutting house.
